Yoga: an astute ally for runners and OCR athletes

The word goes to Cinzia Viola who will guide us to discover the importance of Yoga and Mindfulness practices for runners and OCR athletes

Yoga is a very ancient discipline that unites body and mind. The word Yoga in fact means ‘to conjugate’, ‘to unite’, indicating a set the techniques and methods whose purpose is to bring together and fuse our usually ‘dispersed’ faculties: thoughts, emotions and actions.

WHY PRACTICE YOGA
Yoga, incorporated into our training plan, can be an excellent ally for several of its characteristics. A constant practice of the discipline guarantees improvement in terms of both elasticity and muscle strengthening. In addition, in a complete Yoga class you will encounter useful work for training coordination and balance.
BREATHING, A VALUABLE ALLY
Unlike the usual bodywork, Yoga connects the breath to every single movement, an action we usually perform automatically and without awareness. There are many different breathing techniques, knowing them can help us direct our energies before, during and after a competition performance and/or during a training session.
